shortcodes, sliders and link to Portfolio, Slides etc.

I am having difficulty in linking different functions of the Aegaeus WP Theme. Your instructions are better than most but I am new to this so I can easily be lost. First are the short codes. Your documentation is too brief for me to get a grip on the “steps” to follow. For instance, where and how do I find the relevant shortcode for the gallery/portfolio/gallery that has been created. Using the shortcode in your documentation might work if I have only one (1) gallery. Should not the “gallery” page or “portfolio” page have the shortcode?
My overall objective is to have both sliders and galleries on different pages (I don’t intend using a blog). Specifically, a slider in the header. I am totally lost right now how the “sidebars”, “widgets”, “flex Slides”, “Porfolio”, “Revolution Slider” ultimately link for the creations of the gallery and/or slider.

For instance, I don’t even know what a Revolution Slider is
