Quite a few formatting problems (Aegaeus)

I’m relatively new to WP and the Aegaues theme and I’m having some issues getting things to look/behave the way I want them to. First, my top frontpage logo won’t stretch to fit the entire area and I don’t know how to do that (see lesswrong.com for kind of how I would like my site to look – but not exactly).

Second, my main slider images are not stretching to fit the entire width of the slider itself. Again, I don’t know why.

Third, how do I hide my blog post images/thumbnails?

Fourth, when I enter the site title it puts the title next to my favicon but also inserts it just bust below my slider (which I don’t want). How do I fix this?

Perhaps this is not the right theme for me? I don’t know lol.
