Problem with Updating Highend WP Theme

Has there been an issue with updating the Highend WP theme from 1.7 to 2.0? I updated the theme through the dasboard, and I ended up with duplicate themes. Meaning originally I had the parent theme and the child theme in the themes section of WP. However, after updating, I ended up with two parent themes and two child themes. Additionally, both parent themes were version 2.0, but both child themes were 1.0. Moreover, my website only showed the background and header, but everything else disappeared. I called up my web host, and reinstalled the backup prior to the update, and wanted to find out if there were any known issues before attempting to update the theme again.
