navigation text color in presentation slide

When I change the color of the text in the navigation bar on the home slide it does not stay changed when published. I change it from the default white to gold ffcc00 and the change appears on the slide but when I publish it reverts back to white when I reload the page, I clear the cache- reload and it still reverts. It persists in the new color on other pages, just not on the presentation slides. The WP Live crew wasn’t able to help me, hope you can. Thanks
