Menu update take way too long

Hello:

When I go into Appearance>>Menus and change the menu and try to “Save Menu” it takes a very long time for the changes to take effect. So long that I get an “Error 524” (timeout error screen pops up) and the menu did not change. I have to try continually to try to get it to save. Very frustrating! I contacted my server host and they extended the timeout period, but it still does not work properly.

They also said: “Such issues are usually caused by the incompatibility of different plugins/themes with the current version of the application, with the current PHP version that the website is using or with other plugins/themes.”

Since the menu structure is part of the theme, I would say there is something wrong with the theme’s menu function.

Would you please do something to correct this problem?
