Maintenance Page Issues

Hello everyone,

I recently bought the Highend theme, and wow, it is amazing. Great looking theme with great tutorials and documentation.

I’m new to WordPress and am trying to make a website with this great theme. My first step was to create a Maintenance Page to notify customers that the website is under construction. However, for my message on the page, I have a header followed by a brief paragraph. For some reason, the first word of the paragraph that I type is on the same line as the header, even though within the text editor it’s down 2 lines? In addition, the paragraph doesn’t create new paragraphs that I make in the text editor. Example:
“I type this,

followed by this.”

But in the page it shows up as:

“I type this, followed by this”.

In addition, my short code to embed Google Maps doesn’t appear, even though I used the short code creator in the text editing box.

I know I’m new, and maybe these things are obvious, but the help is greatly appreciated!
