I’ve been thinking about this lately—does publishing a single eBook officially make someone an author? I mean, with the rise of self-publishing and ebook writing services, it’s easier than ever to put a book out there. But does that one book give you the title of an “author,” or do you need to build a portfolio of work?
Some people say that the moment you write and publish a book, you’re an author—no questions asked. Others argue that being an author means consistently producing books, engaging with readers, and growing your craft over time.
What do you all think? Does writing just one book qualify you as an author, or is there more to it? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Do you consider yourself an author after writing one eBook, or do you feel like you need more under your belt?
