High End Theme: Problem With Photos

I am trying to activate the High End theme on my blog; but when I do, the blog no longer shows a preview photo for each post on the main blog page, as it does with the default (2014) theme. This makes the main page of the blog display as just a text list of post names; but without any of that *pop* that comes with having the photos there too.

This link shows you my blog with the 2014 theme, with the main page display configuration that I want to see.

The attached file shows a screen-grab of the same page viewed with the High End theme.

I definitely want the main page to display the first photo in each post along with the title.

Is this an easy thing to set?
