google maps usage gdpr compliant

Hi,

Highend offers a nice integration of google maps as a slide in in the header.

How can I integrate this in a gdpr compliant way? I need the user to consent before loading the maps and associated assets from google. Any tips for a plugin that adds this functionality to the Highend theme? If not, any hints or snippets to add a confirmation to the header link for example?
