Full Width Website but I do not want the size of page objects to chage

I would like a full width website that is “responsive” to the size of the window WITHOUT changing the size of the page elements.

So for example when I use 1140px as a page width, the right sidebar and the other elements are all a certain size, text is a certain size.

When I use full page (which is what I want) these objects are all VERY enlarged and look strange, the font is larger, page elements don’t move to fill in the white space but instead enlarge. (The theme is ‘responsive’ in the sense that page elements, like the blog, DO fill in the white space, but they only do this inside the boundaries of the website overall).

Is there a way to make sure the elements don’t resize but instead move around to fill the space?
