Summary: Themepunch announced an update to Essential Grid plugin on January 17, 2022, ver. 3.0.14. Highend Theme currently is providing the prior version, Essential Grid 3.0.13. That version has problems in its control panel and coding for sorting elements, negatively impacting GUI in the final pages. It may also have conflict issues with the Highend Theme. After several months of dialog with ThemePunch support, they say they have fixed the problems with 3.0.13. However, Highend hasn’t upgraded it. When will Highend release Essential Grid 3.0.14 so Highend users can upgrade to the patched version of the plugin?
My Issues: My site’s implementation of complex Essential Grids includes an alphabetic sort grid of plants, trees, shrubs, and vegetables for users to quickly find plant material for their gardens. These EssGrid elements worked fine in prior versions. From the time 3.0.13 was implemented, they errored by not showing (or counting correctly) the items (elements/pages) being sorted, resulting in partial or no results when users selected the tab for an alphabetic range (see: https://grownbyyou.com/bulbs/) Some index tabs are duplicated, and the number of elements in each tab except the Filter-All tab at left are wrong. They also do not function. In the Essential grid control panel in WordPress, the preview often shows differently than the actual page.
Further, in trying to fix the problems, ThemePunch support sent us a non-public version of the plugin to install. After installation, both the Highend instance of 3.0.13 and the new 3.0.14 instance caused fatal errors in the plugin. I deactivated both, and tried each independently, but there must be some crosstalk because the problems persist in both versions (including the so-called “fixed” version.)
Questions: Are these reported problems and is there a known conflict with Highend Theme? When will you update EssGrid in Highend so I can get rid of the fatal-error/double plugin issue?
(Another bad-performing grid is attached to show the situation with the element count function turned off.)
Thank you,
