Essential Grid not responding

I have been unable to add or replace an image in an existing or new Essential Grid.
I have switched to another theme, deactivated all other plugins, and still the problem persists. This is the case with both sites I manage.
Interestingly, the EG website (https://www.essential-grid.com/) notes its latest version as 3.0.7, whereas the version on my WordPress websites is 3.0.12.
Is there an issue with updates? Please help.
