edits to portfolio overlays / image overlays

I haven’t been able to find this in the support centre but apologies if raised before.
I need to change the colour of portfolio overlays and also add text / remove links. I can’t find out where this is possible, if you can point me in the right direction please?
Or should I use a grid / other option instead?
