Display animated GIF in gallery

    Is there a way to display an animated GIF in replacement for a gallery photo? I tried replacing it but it would not play it…I am basically trying to create a GIF library of my videos so when you hover over the GIF it plays automatically the preview and when you click it pops up a window of the video…

    Any suggestions? Thanks
