Customize changes are not being saved.

I want to use a homepage similar to your demo and so I’m trying to modify some things in the original rather than create a homepage from scratch. I’m beginning by updating the footer data and so I’m into the theme Customize page where all the customizable widget settings are off to the left (see attached).

The very second that I put anything into any widget (new widget or existing one already there), the little circle in the lower right of the widget starts going round and round (forever) and does not stop. When I try to make changes to the data and save it and then close, I’ve lost all of my changes.

I tried to move an existing widget from one Widget footer area to another and that works. And if I try to remove a widget it certainly will disappear as you can see. However, when I try to add another widget (as in the Text widget I tried to add–see attached), it will not save anything I type into that either.

Ultimately, I cannot add to customize nor change anything there (and get it saved). The only thing I’ve been able to do is to zap the text widget that was already there.
