Contact template not sending email

My contact form (using the contact template) does not send email. It says the message is sent but I never receive it. I checked through the forum and found information to ask my email host to check for PHP blocking which I did and they do not have that set on their end. I’m sure this is user error on my part, but could you help me configure this?
