Color- Copy Right Bar

In WP under Appearances-Customize- Color-Copy Right Bar; I change the color options for background, text, and link then hit Save & publish and the changes default back to Highend WP Theme colors not my custom color selections. This also happens the Top Bar section.

I installed both Child theme and Parent theme zip files and I have only activated the child theme, is this correct? There was no instruction on this in your directions? I want to clarify incase this is the issue.
