Change archive.php template v2 – Sidebar issue

Hello,

I followed the instructions from the thread in 2015 here to modify my archive.php layout:

So, I did this same thing to modify my archive.php to resemble the blog template. But, the problem is that the sidebar does not display on the right hand side of the screen which would be expected. The sidebar is now being forced to the bottom of the page. Do you know how to solve this?
