Can't change hb_page_custom_title

I don’t seem to be able to change the hb_page_custom_title for my home page.
I have tried editing it in the Custom Fields box for my home page, but WP will just not accept my edit, even though I clicked the update button next to the hb_custom_page_title text box, and clicked the general update button for the page. It still seems to come back even if I delete the hb_page_custom_title custom field.
I’m using a child theme to Aegaeus theme.
