Asterisk in form fields

Aegaeus 4.1, is there a way to remove the nice little grey astersiks that seem to pop up in contact form text areas? I’m using a plug in for a booking form (because it generates a sequential order number) and mandatory fields are shown with a red asterisk but also the grey asterisk that seems to come with the theme is showing in text areas (as compared to text fields). This could be a little confusing when the website says that required fields are marked with an asterisk and a text area isn’t a required field 😉
