AegaeusWP Theme – Error: Wrong export slider file format

Hi. A client had trouble making his site (http://www.mojosportsks.com/) look exactly like yours. I had trouble as well, but I’m not sure if we had the same trouble.

The biggest issue (perhaps) was anytime we tried to install the Revolution sliders, every zip file (as in homeslider.zip) failed with the following error:
“error-
importing slider setings and data…

Error: Wrong export slider file format!

Go Back”

The .txt files installed fine, but nothing zip would install.

Rather than take billable time to compare your site to his, you can look at his URL in it’s current state to know what is missing etc. http://www.mojosportsks.com/

Here is details about what I think worked and what I had trouble or confusion about…

a. First I backedup how I found things.
b. Then I reset everything to default so if a past problem was going to
interfere, it’s reset.

c. Import XML file into WordPress-No known issues. (aegaeus_export.xml)

d. 7.3 In the dropdown below, select page named “Home”. (No known issues).

e. 8.2 In Theme Location dropdowns, select Main menu and Footer menu.
DONE I THINK…I was slightly confused by this step so I don’t know
how I can tell.

f. 9. After that IMPORT Theme Options. Initially confused by
this, but believe I did correctly. Made certain that all
settings were saved at end.

g. Slider import-EVERY ZIP file slider import failed.
Only landingSlider.txt and secondSlider.txt worked and they were in .txt
vs. zip file format…

1. It’s important to import the Theme Options Settings first.

DID NOT ATTEMPT TO DO ANYTHING WITH WIDGETS BASED ON
PROBLEMS WITH OTHER PARTS.

I *AM* CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT WIDGETS ARE ALREADY INSTALLED
ETC.

since in part 2 “and that you have deleted all widgets from widgetised areas
Appearance > Widgets.” it says to delete.
