Adding a Variable to Button

Is the button shortcode capable of supporting a variable being added based on the button selected? For example, if I create a pricing menu, in each column there is a button to select the service, can each button be configured to pass a variable representing which service the customer selected? I know you can add variables in buttons in HTML, not sure if that works in the pricing table shortcode or by the button shortcode.
