Category page title / header

Hello,

Right now the top of the category page says “Category ‘Uncategorized'” (just for example). I’d like to actually link to a category page from my menu (because I want to show a list of excerpts with feature images and don’t know of any other way to do it), but want to change the header text…. it would be great if I could use an image, but really I just need to get of the word “category”. How can I do this? I don’t see a category page template. If that’s not possible, is there a way to display feature pictures + excerpts in a similar fashion on a regular page?
