Icons not showing

Hello, I am using Aegaeus WP theme 4.0 on a wordpress multisite. I’m trying to use the Font Awesome icons from the themes editor (icons, icon columns, circle columns) but they aren’t showing up. I’ve followed theme documentation and even went through the process of downloading the FA-ICONS all over and deleted the old files in css > fonts > fonts awesome and replaced them with the newer file version (by the way the link in the documentation to font squirrel is a 404 page). This is happening with the child theme activated or the Parent. Im also using buddypress but i am editing the about page. Buddypress works well with this theme as i can see and have experienced. i have tried using about twelve different themes from mojo-themes and this is the only one that the icons won’t show on when using the theme editor.
