Main page-home

Hello,
I have looked at the forum and didn’t see anything like this and it is a little hard to explain. I am very new to this. I am not able to edit my home page like I am my other pages. My homepage is .com and my other pages are like .com/services, and that makes my home not a “page.” I created a home page in pages, but it made the link .com/home. I do not want this because now when people go to the .com website it says that page doesn’t exist due to the homepage being .com/home. I have already ordered business cards with the normal .com website, not with home on the end. Since my homepage is the pain page on my website, I would like to customize it the most. Basically, how can I edit my home page like my other pages without actually creating a “home” page.

Also, I have created a “home” page before and I could not get the old homepage back without help. Therefore, I don’t want to try to add “home” as a page again because I obviously am doing something wrong.
