Endless Issues With Visual Composer

Visual Composer seems to be full of bugs:

-Text in a text block element disappear in fronted mode when switching from backend mode.
-Adding a blog carousel causes the name of my page to change to the title of the blog post.
-Adding a line separator in one column magically adds a bunch of spacers and separators in —other columns.
-Adding simple custom javascrip, even when using “Raw JS” element, causes certain theme elements to stop working.

I really like this theme and when VC is working properly it’s great; however, the bugs that keep popping up around every corner make me want to ditch the whole thing entirely. I have throughly read the theme documentation and don’t think I’m doing anything wrong. Please help.
