Settin up Woocommerce

I have the Aegaeus theme and want to use it for a store. I need to have featured items on the homepage and be able to highlight other products. I have looked over the shortcodes and I do not understand how that can work with this theme. Would Highend be a better choice for a shop with featured items?

I appreciate your advice. If either would work best, can you tell me where to find or use shortcodes for the store items?
