Page Title with Background Image

When I select the page title with background image, select my image I want to use a banner, it keeps resizing it no matter what image size I set it to. Are there specific image dimensions that will insert it without scaling?

Also and more importantly, when I leave the title empty, it still shows big dark/light text on top of my image displaying the title of the page. How do I get rid of all title text?
