Recent Posts don't display when option selected

On my home page, I want all recent posts to be displayed. Everytime I set to this option in wordpress, I get the “You need to choose your home page in your WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Reading.” error message. When I change to display a static page, that page appears, but with a comment section underneath it. Also on both settings, the title displayed in browser tab is started off with the most recent post title before the site name. I can’t find any way to make the home page display recent posts, or change info in browser tab. Please help.
