Logo resize and padding removal

I’ve been trying to resize my logo but for some reason cannot adjust the height to any bigger than it already is.

I have tried the following CSS suggested in another thread

#logo img {
max-height: 88% !important;
max-width: 153% !important;
width: 151% !important;
}

I was also hoping to remove the white padding bordering the above and below the content of my site.

Any help would be great!
