Created a Blog page. Can't figure out next steps

Hi.
I’ve created a blog page for my website, but I can’t figure out how to put content on the page. It seems I’m supposed to add an element to the page where I can create and publish the content, but I can’t figure out how that’s done. I’d appreciate some clear direction as to how to do it.
