product images stretched in side widget

On our woocommerce shop page, the product images are stretched into long thin rectanges (when they should be square) in the left side widget under both “In Cart” and “Recently Viewed Products”. Other sidebar images look ok.

This happened after we upgraded versions. I believe it wiped out a custom CSS which made the page width wider. If you look on the HOME page, you’ll see the revolution slider header on the top is wider than the left/right side widgets. Before they were equal width.

How do we expand the total width of the page? How do we correct the side widgets images from getting streched?
