Adding a Button in the Header

Recently I had custom coded/designed a button and put it in the header of my page in place of the ‘Site Info Content’ space, however whenever anything was updated in the Theme Options, the code went all caddywhompus on my menu.

Obviously this is not a viable option.

I would like to have this button in the top but cannot find a good place to add it so that it is on every page. As of now it is resting in the footer, but I would like to put it back up at the top under the social network spots. Any suggestions on where to add some custom HTML?
