Change custom social icon

On a previous thread HB noted that in order to change the default chain link custom social icon to something else, you need to put this into the Custom CSS:

jQuery( ‘i.hb-moon-link-5’ ).removeClass( ‘hb-moon-link-5’ ).addClass( ‘hb-moon-cart-6’ );

I’ve done that, but it doesn’t change a thing. Also, I would like to give that social icon a hover over background color like the other social icons. Could you walk me through how to do that, too?
