Can't use Default Template with /contact permalink

    I want to use the Default Template, not the Contact Template, on my contact page. But when I set the permalink to /contact it renders in the Contact Template. Any other permalink renders correctly. This is on the exact same page with no other changes. Any suggestions what is causing this?
