2 Issues: "Customize" not saving changes & "ad" in sidebar not showing up

Problem one. I tried posting in an open thread on this subject but got no response for a few weeks.
When I change colors in the “appearance > customize” section and click save. Nothing happens. I can see the colors in the editor just fine but they won’t save to the site. When I go back to the editor the color is indeed set to what I changed it to, but it hasn’t changed on the actual site. This problem has persisted for several weeks and many save attempts.

Problem two, I’m using the HB Themes: Advertising Image widget in the sidebar, and the picture won’t show up on the site. Again, it looks fine in the editors, but doesn’t show up when I save/ publish and go to the site.
